A vacation?

Spring is almost here, which means it's time for my semi-anual trip to the San Francisco area (yay) to visit family & do some paper shopping. I leave on Sunday and have a to do list 10 pages long before I go. I am excited, I love this journey, good restaurants, great shopping, a beautiful drive and gorgeous scenery. However, it seems I am never ready enough to stay open for business & be gone at the same time, but as this is my livelihood, closing is really not an option.

I've asked my friend Lea to take over the shipping while I am gone & I've been doing lots of crafting so I'll have a good supply of inventory for her to ship during my travels. I'm taking lots of things to make (mostly journals which will be arriving soon after my return) and of course a long list of supplies to return with. As prepared as I am & as much fun as I know I will have, leaving my business, even for a day or two, is something I always have a hard time with. Lea is great & will do a fabulous job & I will have a wonderful time, but even still it is so hard to let go. Leaving my shop is like leaving my baby, I will worry about it the whole time I am gone, though I plan on having some fun in between :)

What I've seen in Etsy is that whenever someone goes on vacation leaves a message at the ETSY store explainig by example that all orders received between this and that date will be shipped after another date (when you are back), the only thing they do is to leave a good stock there so the shop is not emptied before you are back from vacation.

The only inconvenient is that when you are back you'll be stressed shipping put so many orders. It is much better as in your case, having someone doing it for you.

Have a great time! and Happy Valentine's!

Zarita, I don't have any thing scheduled but it would be a good idea for me to work that in for my next visit.

I'd love to teach another workshop.
